Taking Delivery Of Our New RV
dot

July 18, 2005

We took delivery of our new RV this past weekend! Purchased from the LazyDays RV Store in Seffner (just outside Tampa, Florida), we now own a 36' National RV Sea Breeze LX motorhome. That's me in the photo taking the keys from our great salesman Greg Raczynski. All the people at LazyDays were so wonderful and they gave us a terrific deal.

Our first weekend in our new motorhome was actually at the Lazydays RV dealership in Seffner Florida, just outside Tampa. We started the day hunting it down as it was being taken from the body shop to replace a molding, then to detail, and then to the install of the in-motion satellite system. Once we tracked it down and looked it over, we headed back indoors to the finance office. Which was actually a GOOD thing because it was hot outside!

In the finance office we took care of all the paper work. Fortunately my wife, having sold Honda cars for 10 years, was real familiar with the details and knew the lingo. Everything went smooth and we were off to the insurance department. Lazydays is such a wonderful place to buy an RV because they do everything in house, saving us the extra cost of dealer and registration fees.

Next we waited in the delivery lounge while they installed the in-motion satellite system. Upon completion, they parked it on their own campgrounds, plugged it in, and turned on the A/C. During this time we were away having dinner. When we returned, we drove our old van straight to the camp site where we had our walk around and instructions. After he showed us everything on the RV, of course forgetting half of it, we made ourselves at home.

Out with the old and in with the new!

We continued checking out all the different cabinets, storage compartments, gadgets, and gizmos until eventually it was late and time for sleep!

The next morning we drove around the area a little getting used to it. It was Sunday, so the Lazydays staff didn't show up until close to noon. Once they arrived, we received our temp tag and our salesman, Greg, came out and asked if there were any final questions while we were there. After a few minor details, we were off. I drove the motorhome back to Orlando, while my wife drove our van. Arriving back at the house, we soon had some family and neighbors come by to check out our new home.

So that's how our first weekend went. We'll soon be packing the RV, putting a few things in storage and then having a HUGE garage sale! Then a few touchups to the house and putting it on the market. But more on that in the days to come.
