We're Finally Ready To Continue!

January 18, 2006

What a week. If you remember back from the last update, we were waiting for our replacement seat cushions, a missing camera, and a camera in repairs.

Well on Monday I received a call from Colonial Photo and Hobby to inform me that my camera has returned from Nikon. YEA! About 30 minutes later, my mother called (she receives all our mail while on the road) and said that she had the new camera package as well. Double YEA! As it turned out, she had it all along! She was expecting 3 packages herself and received two of hers and mine on the same day. She looked at the first two and saw her name and just assumed that the other was hers also. Then she just piled them in the garage. Well on Monday she received a letter in the mail saying her third package would be arriving in February. Confused, she went back to the garage and discovered my missing camera mixed in with her packages. How funny! So on Tuesday, I went and picked up both cameras.

We also received a call from Lazy Days to tell us our cushions came in. So today we drove over to Tampa to pick up the cushions and to tour the big RV show at the fairgrounds. There were a lot of RV's there! We walked around for five hours and only managed to go through about one-third of the exhibits. They also had some of the really expensive coaches. The most expensive we looked at was a mere $1.8 million! It sure was nice on the inside, but I can't see driving around and camping in that thing.

After we came back from Tampa, I wanted to try out the new Nikon D70s camera. So this evening I drove into downtown Orlando for some night photos. I think they turned out pretty good. What do you think?

Tomorrow we FINALLY hit the road again! Our first stop is Tallahassee to see Florida's capital. Then over to the white sand beaches in the panhandle.

See you soon,

Mark
