Visiting The Boeing Factory In Washington
dot

June 30, 2006

This morning we left the campground in Fall City, Washington and drove over to Renton which was off I-405. There was a Wal-Mart there where I could park and unhook the Blazer. Cricket and the boys when inside and did some shopping while I drove the Blazer down to Fife and pick up the seat cushions which finally arrived. Hopefully these will last longer!

When I got be, I hooked back up and we continued north again. Traffic was horrible! Once we got onto I-5 north of Seattle, it was bumper to bumper traffic and we only averaged about 15-20 mph.

Well we finally made it to Everett around 3:30 pm. Unfortunately because of the traffic we missed the last factory tour for the day. We did however visit the "Future of Flight" museum there. It was pretty cool. I think my favorite part was the scale model airplanes they had there, probably one of every airplane dating back to 1918! We also drove by the assembly plant and could see the large hangers. Outside some of them were a few finished airplanes waiting for delivery.

Upon leaving Boeing, we continued north on I-5 heading towards the Canadian border. We stopped for a little while at the last rest area before the border. I was having some problems with the Satellite and wanted to call support before I lost phone service in Canada.

From there we continued right up to the border and parked for the night. Tomorrow we'll cross over into Canada. Stay tuned...
