This past Wednesday we moved a few miles down the road to the Aurora RV Resort in Aurora, Oregon. The state park had already been booked for the weekend, so we couldn't stay and wait for our mail.
Just as soon as we got setup there we had to quickly get cleaned up and ready to go. Several months ago we met Phil and Carol White through the forums and spoke over the phone. Now that we are here in Oregon, we had made plans to meet them for lunch. Phil and Carol had also taken a year off to travel the country in a Class B motorhome. They even wrote a book about their experience called "Live Your Road Trip Dream" and is featured in our
page. We all had a nice visit talking about our RVing adventures.
Afterwards we stopped by Wal-Mart on the way back to the RV to replenish our food supply.
On Thursday we just hung out in the RV. Cricket had gotten a little busy with work and had to be near the laptop and phone.
Today it was another visit with some new friends. Katin and Dianne had also found us through this website. They too work at home and had been considering traveling the country in a motorhome. We met them at one of the local restaurants in Portland for lunch and they gave us a packet of information of things to see in the greater Portland area. We were also able to encourage them to pursue their dream of RV traveling.
Aside from the two couple we've had lunch with, Cricket and I both have noticed how friendly the folks in Oregon are. So far they have been the most friendly people in our travels. So if you are ever passing through Oregon, be sure to stop for a few days and chat with some of the locals.
Well I just realized I don't have any photos to go with this update. Well I'll be making up for that tomorrow. We're heading up the Historic Hwy 30 where there are a bunch of waterfalls.
Until then, take care,
